In 2004, podpod design was commissioned by AE Austria with designing a suspended luminaire for public street lighting. The luminaire corresponds to the new EU standards and is to replace the traditional long and narrow fixtures.

Two interlacing hands, interlocking and contrasting elements: a hard protective metal casing to which a visually soft and air-permeable, tiltable synthetic component – that is partly transparent and satined at the edges – is clinging. The boundary between the two elements is somewhat blurred; the visual appeal of the luminaire is restful and avoids distracting formal excess.
