Vienna Stadthalle

The illumination concept by podpod design has transformed the Vienna Stadthalle into a nocturnal landmark of the Austrian capital. The great variety of events held in this multifunctional hall designed in the 1950s by architect Prof. Roland Rainer is rendered visible to the outside world by means of a coloured and colourful illumination design.

Interior – Exterior

The colourful light design for the spotlights continues on the ceiling underface of the main lobby.

Illumination of portal zone

Colour changers are mounted on the canopy above the main entrance to allow for the floodlighting of the characteristic portal zone. Different colour arrangements are pre-programmed, depending on the evening’s event.

Along the entrance portal, compact linear luminaires are mounted to emphasise the steel-glass structure on the one hand and to illuminate the inside and outside of the entrance zone brightly on the other hand.
